Cape Town - A former sex worker testified in the Cape High Court on Wednesday that she was attacked at a retired architect's house in Muizenberg while she and the deceased were waiting for the Viagra he took to take effect.
Rochelle Cherry, 23, said Sidney Meyer Seftel, 75, was a regular client of hers. He was murdered in his house in November 2000. Jerome du Preez and Sewyn Davids are standing trial for the murder, but have denied all charges against them.
Cherry said she helped Seftel to clean his house on the day of his murder and that Du Preez, her pimp and boyfriend at the time, was waiting outside for her.
She said that Seftel later asked her whether they could do business and then took half a Viagra pill.
Cherry said she went to have cigarette outside while they were waiting for the Viagra to take effect when she was attacked with pepper spray.
She said she'd heard Du Preez shout to his friend to help
him move the body.
"The man's heavy."
Seftel's body was found in his house three days later.
The post-mortem showed that his skull had been cracked and a plastic bag pulled over his head and tied around his neck.
Cherry said she helped Du Preez, Davids and a third man, Andrew Lottering, carry things from Seftel's house. She returned with them two days later to remove more things.
Cherry said she was too afraid of Du Preez and Lottering to ask about Seftel's fate, but heard them discussing the murder later.
She went to the police a few days later and led them to some of the stolen goods.
