Johannesburg - A man was killed when a vehicle overturned on the N1, near the Kroonvaal toll plaza, at Parys, paramedics said on Friday.

A white Isuzu bakkie went out of control and was found by the side of the road on its roof, said ER24 spokesperson, Andre Visser.

"The man, believed to be in his late 30s was found a few metres from the wrecked bakkie. He had sustained various fatal injuries and was later declared dead at the scene."

A second man, also in his late 30s, sustained cuts and abrasions.

He received treatment for shock and minor injuries before being taken to a nearby hospital, Visser said.
