Durban - One man was killed and another injured when their bakkie collided with a parked trucked on the N2 north in Amanzimtoti in the early hours of Sunday morning, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
"Reports from the scene indicate that three people in a bakkie were travelling towards Athlone Park when they collided into the back of a stationary truck near the Oppenheimer road bridge," said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.
One of the passengers was found dead when paramedics arrived on the scene.
Another passenger suffered serious injuries and was in a critical condition.
The third occupant of the bakkie, the driver, escaped the accident unharmed.
The injured man was taken to a local hospital while the driver is being questioned by police.
