Man dies in head-on crash with truck

Johannesburg - A man was killed in a collision on the N14 near Oaktree, paramedics said on Saturday morning.

"A man was killed when a bakkie he was driving collided with an articulated truck head-on on the N14 near Oaktree in the Heuningklip Agricultural Holding," said Netcare 911 spokesperson, Jeff Wicks.

"All indications are that the articulated truck, carrying a payload a ceramic tiles, and the bakkie had been travelling in opposite directions."

The cause of the accident is unknown.

"The two collided and the truck subsequently overturned, spilling its cargo onto the roadway."

The driver of the bakkie was found dead on arrival of the paramedics.
