Jhannesburg - A 24-year-old man was shot and killed during an apparent road rage attack on Saturday, Soweto police said on Monday.
Sergeant Richard Munyai said in a statement a taxi driver was accosted by three men in a VW City Golf at about 19:30 on Saturday night in Diepkloof, Soweto.
They accused him of bad driving. The taxi driver apologised and continued on his way.
The men in the Golf, however, pursued him and in Marthinus Drive in Zone 5, stopped in front of him.
Munyai said the three men pulled the taxi driver from his vehicle and started assaulting him.
He pulled out his firearm and shot the driver of the other car in the face. He died at the scene.
The 40-year-old taxi driver sustained minor injuries.
He was arrested and taken to Diepkloof police station. He would appear in court soon, Munyai said.
