Man falls from hotel balcony in Durban

Durban - A 32-year-old man was seriously injured when he fell from a hotel balcony in Durban on Friday night, paramedics said.

The man fell from a second storey balcony, smashed through a skylight and landed on the terrace of a restaurant in Riverside, Durban North.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Crisis Medical spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said he was placed in a special stretcher for suspected spinal cord injuries and taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The cause of the incident is unknown.
