Man found dead, hanging from tree

Mahikeng - The body of a 31-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in Dwaalkraal near Sannieshof, after he had stabbed his girlfriend, North West police said on Sunday.

Captain Amanda Funani said he was found hanging by a rope in a tree on Saturday.

"It is alleged that the deceased had an argument with his girlfriend that led him to stab her with a pair of scissors before he fled the scene."

She said it was suspected that he thought his girlfriend was dead and he went away with the intention of committing suicide. However, she had survived with minor injuries.
