Johannesburg - Durban businessman Prince Sifiso Zulu was on Monday granted bail in the Durban Regional Court on two charges of culpable homicide, police said.
Superintendent Phindile Radebe said Zulu was granted bail of R5 000 and the case was postponed to July 18.
"He was arrested this morning in connection with the accident that occurred on March 29," Radebe said.
Zulu's BMW X5 was involved in a hit and run accident with a Mitsubishi double-cab on that day.
Two members of the Soul's Harbour Ministries Church died and ten other people were injured.
Radebe dismissed claims that police had attempted to "cover-up" the investigation.
"We would like to reiterate that the SAPS will not cover-up any investigation irrespective of who is suspected of committing an offence," she said.
