Johannesburg - A 35-year-old Soweto man received a life sentence plus 25 years behind bars for his part in the gang rape and kidnapping of three women in Orange Farm.

On Christmas Day in 2006, Tebogo Singo and two other men abducted three women in Meadowlands, Soweto, and took them to a house in Orange Farm where they raped them throughout the night, The Star reported.

The next day they forced the women to clean the house and do their laundry. They then dropped them off in Soweto.

Magistrate Mohamed Jooma said it was “shocking” the way that Singo “passed on the complainants to your partners”.

The rapist’s trial had dragged on for seven years as Singo continuously changed his lawyers.

The other two members of the gang have never been caught.
