Johannesburg - Brian Mangwale was found guilty of kidnapping and murdering a 10-year-old-girl by the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, SABC news reported.
Mangwale's earlier claims that police assaulted him in order to force a confession were rejected.
Mangwale was on trial for murdering schoolgirl Masego Kgomo in Soshanguve.
She disappeared without a trace on New Year's Eve in 2009, after last being seen in Mangwale's company.
A police officer testified that Mangwale willingly pointed out the girl's body in a densely bushed area behind the Soshanguve railway station eight days after she disappeared.
Evidence was presented during the trial which suggested that her womb and a breast were cut out while she was still alive.
Sentencing would begin on Tuesday.
