Man guilty of gruesome ritual murder

2011-10-03 20:32

Johannesburg - Brian Mangwale was found guilty of kidnapping and murdering a 10-year-old-girl by the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, SABC news reported.

Mangwale's earlier claims that police assaulted him in order to force a confession were rejected.

Mangwale was on trial for murdering schoolgirl Masego Kgomo in Soshanguve.

She disappeared without a trace on New Year's Eve in 2009, after last being seen in Mangwale's company.

A police officer testified that Mangwale willingly pointed out the girl's body in a densely bushed area behind the Soshanguve railway station eight days after she disappeared.

Evidence was presented during the trial which suggested that her womb and a breast were cut out while she was still alive.

Sentencing would begin on Tuesday.

But REALLY now, what MORE can be done to persuade this government to bring back the death penalty! What gives a barbaric person who does this the right to live a safe and secure life, on my tax money, in prison for many years getting free food, accomodation and health care better than the truly poor who live an honest life in this country? And a whole family was "executed" in Walkerville last weekend, shot in cold blood with hands tied behind their bodies, wife raped, child drowned in boiling water before being shot! Is this a "human being"? Where is the campaign Helen Zille - we MUST demand a referendum on the death penalty. Absolutely MUST!! No point in bitching about these things on websites and do NOTHING! Please, somebody get the petition going NOW!! This is NOT a racial question please, it's a crime issue, so I ask all you folks to keep it clean, otherwise serious things that need all of us to unite lose momentum.

what no Africans on here posting.....I really would like to know what they themselves think of this kind of crime....I cannot make sense of this.....I think that is because i dont understand, can some1 tell me what is the reason behind this "traditional" / "ritual" murder. I cannot even see how it is given a label like that. It is insane. Really this is like something out of Saw movies or Hannibal.
