Man held after doing 261km/h

Johannesburg - A man was arrested near the N3 Linksfield offramp early on Sunday after the highest recorded speed violation in the Ekurhuleni metropole, metro police said.
The 31-year-old man was travelling at 261km/h in a 120km/h zone in a Nissan Skyline GTR. The car had a Botswana number plate. He said he was on his way to the Wesbank race track in Alberton, said Superintendent Vusi Mabanga.
Three other speedsters were arrested after travelling between 184km/h and 188km/h in a 120km/h zone.
They were a 37-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, each driving a Ford Focus, and a 27-year-old man driving a Subaru sedan. They were also on their way to the race track.
The four were taken to Edenvale police station and are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Monday.
