Man held for Cape Town ATM bombing
Cape Town - A Cape Town man has been arrested after the bombing of an automated teller machine in Nyanga, Cape Town, on Wednesday morning, Western Cape police said.
Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said evidence was found at the man's house to suggest he was responsible for the explosion.
A substantial amount of money was also seized.
The ATM on Emms Drive was bombed around 02:30, with an undisclosed amount of cash taken. Three people fired shots at police before fleeing on foot.
Traut said the arrest was a breakthrough in their investigations into the recent spate of ATM bombings in the province. More arrests were likely.
