Man held for Hazyview murder

2012-04-11 20:41
Johannesburg - A man was arrested in Hazyview on Wednesday after he allegedly shot and killed a man while robbing his house, Mpumalanga police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Hlathi said the 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of Loderick Foxon, 43.

Two men tied up Foxon and his wife with cable ties while they ransacked their house on Tuesday night. Foxon managed to untie himself and grabbed one of the robbers, but was shot dead.

Police were still searching for the second man who fled the scene.

"We are following all possible leads for a second arrest," Hlathi said.

The arrested man faces charges of murder and house robbery.

He will appear in the White River Magistrate's Court on Friday.
