Johannesburg - A man from Kagiso in the West Rand was
arrested for attempted murder, police said on Monday.
Police spokesperson Solomon Sibiya said they arrested him
on Sunday, after he allegedly fired shots at another man during an argument at
a petrol station on Friday.
"The suspect drew a firearm and fired two shots to
the direction of the complainant, but missed," said Sibiya.
Another man, believed to be the suspect's friend,
allegedly came and took the gun away before fleeing the scene with it.
A case of attempted murder was opened with police. The
gun used in the alleged incident had not been recovered.
"At the moment he is just facing an attempted murder
charge, but another charge of discharging a firearm in a municipal area could
be added," said Sibiya.
The man would appear in court soon.
