Johannesburg - A man was arrested on Thursday in connection with the murder of a farmer near Queenstown, Eastern Cape police said.

The 23-year-old was arrested at Birch Farm location, in Queenstown, said police spokesperson Pumzile Makaula.

He would appear in the Queenstown Magistrate's Court on Monday on a murder charge.

Farmer Dudley Buss's children and workers found his body in the shop of his farm Braamneck on Monday.

"The deceased lived alone on his farm, which is about 35km outside of Queenstown," Makaula said.

Police were searching for a possible accomplice.
