Johannesburg - An Eastern Cape man has been arrested after his wife was found dead at their home in Ntlahlane village, Willowvale, police said on Wednesday.

Captain Jackson Manatha said a family friend visited the couple on Tuesday and found the 18-year-old woman with injuries to the upper body.

He alerted local residents and the police were called.
The 37-year-old man was arrested.

"There are signs that linked him to the crime, although I cannot reveal that information before he appears in court."

The motive for the killing was not clear. The man would appear in the Willowvale Magistrate's Court on Thursday facing a charge of murder.
