Man held for mob justice killing

2012-11-21 18:15
Johannesburg - A man has been arrested for allegedly killing another man in a mob justice incident in Swaneville, Kagiso on the West Rand, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the 53-year-old man on Tuesday for the crime that was committed on 15 August , Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said.

"We hope to make more arrests, because this was mob justice and we believe that he will point out others," Sibiya said.

Sibiya said a man was attacked by an angry mob after he allegedly broke into a house in the area in August. Police found him bleeding profusely. He died at the scene.

The arrested man will appear in the Kagiso Magistrate's Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.
