Acornhoek - A radiographer at Tintswalo Hospital in Mpumalanga appeared in the magistrate's court here on Monday in connection with killing his wife.
Tsepo Mokoena of Bushbuckridge was arrested on Friday on charges of murdering Debora Silinda, 30, last year.
He was not asked to plead and was granted R10 000 bail and told to appear again on July 30.
Mokoena had two children, aged four and eight, with Silinda, who was a nurse at the Nelspruit Medi-Clinic.
Her body was found naked in bushes between Bushbuckridge and Hazyview on January 15 last year.
More than one involved
Police made a breakthrough after receiving a tip-off and arrested Mokoena on Friday, said Superintendent Abie Khoabane of Mpumalanga police on Monday.
"More arrests will follow because it looks as if the murder was carried out by more than one person," said Khoabane.
"We thank members of the community for helping us with information that led to this breakthrough."
Speaking on behalf of Silinda's family, her brother, Joko Silinda, said the family was relieved that police had finally made a breakthrough.
"I hope my sister's soul will now rest in peace," said Silinda.
