Man held for murder

Johannesburg - A 23-year-old man has been arrested for shooting dead another man in Dutywa, near Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.

Captain Jackson Manatha said Nceba Mntumni was shot dead at Sheshegu Location, Dutywa, early on Saturday morning.

His alleged killer was arrested later that day. Police also recovered a pistol, believed to be the murder weapon.

The motive for the killing was unknown.

Manatha said the pistol would be sent for ballistics tests to determine whether it had been used in other crimes.

The arrested man would appear in the Dutywa Magistrate's Court on Monday.
