Man held minutes after hijack

Johannesburg - A 26-year-old man was arrested a few minutes after hijacking a car in Emmarentia on Friday, said Johannesburg police.

The man and two accomplices hijacked a black BMW on the corner of Kafur and Letaba streets, said Captain Cynthia Magai.

"The other two jumped back into the vehicle the suspects were driving and one drove the hijacked car. He was caught a few streets down by security guards and the police arrived and arrested him."

Magai said the other two fled and police were still looking for them.
