Man hurt in explosion at home
Johannesburg - A man was seriously injured in an explosion at his Helderkruin home in Roodepoort on the West Rand on Wednesday, paramedics said.
"The 31-year-old man was alone in the bedroom at the time," ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said.
The man's face, arms, chest and legs were burnt. He was taken to hospital and was in a stable condition. The cause of the blast was not immediately clear, but it is believed there was some sort of large cylinder in the bedroom, Jackson said.
"Neighbours said they could feel the force of the explosion, causing the walls in their homes to shake."
No one else was injured.
