Man in court for campus rapes

2012-05-18 15:43

Johannesburg - The trial of an alleged serial rapist who targeted students was postponed to July 13 in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Zacharia Selowa, 22, faces eight charges of rape, police spokesperson Constable Moses Molepo said.

Selowa allegedly targeted female students between 2010 and 2011 from the University of Limpopo's Turfloop campus who shopped at a nearby complex.

He would offer to carry their groceries and then lure them to a cemetery and rape them.

He was not a student, but lived at the Metz village near the campus.

In this day and age how do you "lure" a grownup student to a cemetery?. I am not blaming the poor victims and that is the last thing I want to do but the question boggles my mind. Maybe the layout of the whole place will give the answer.
