Man in court for raping niece, 11

2012-03-23 18:00

Johannesburg - A man accused of raping his 11-year-old niece appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court on Friday, Limpopo police said.

The 23-year-old man's mother appeared with him as co-accused, Lieutenant Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said.

"The woman is charged with defeating the ends of justice, after she failed to intervene when the girl told her about the rape."

The girl told the accused, her aunt, about the alleged rape in 2010 when it started.

The case was postponed to March 29 and the two remained in custody, Ramatseba said.

This man's private parts need to be removed and fed to dogs before his own eyes. Why call this animal a man?

      HendrikAfrika - 2012-03-23 22:00

Why remove them, give the dog some fun at least.

this guy is just one example of family members that sexually abuse children in our community. the fact of the matter is gender based violence is rife in South Africa. day in and day out cases of sexual abuse are heard in our courts of children who are raped and in most cases by someone close to them. the people who are informed by the children of these atrocities either ignore or reprimand the child for doing so. this is done on the name of preserving the dignity of family name, maybe the abuser is a provider, and or in most instances for the better part of the population do not know what to do, who to tell (the steps to follow after disclosure)

Maybe he has aids and believed that raping a virgin would cure him? Isn't that a popular belief? If true, our people need to be educated and made to understand that this behaviour has no excuse and will be punished.
