Man killed after trying to help

Johannesburg - A 27-year-old man was stabbed and killed after he allegedly tried to intervene in argument between a woman and her husband in Silverton, Marlboro, Johannesburg police said on Sunday.
Inspector Moses Mabhakela said the incident happened outside a shebeen around 02:00 on Sunday and the alleged attacker was arrested shortly after.
Mabhakela said it was believed the woman, 21, went to the shebeen to collect her husband, 25, and when they were leaving he tried to stab her.
When the 27-year-old tried to intervene, he was stabbed in the throat and died on the scene.
The man was taken to the Bramley police station and was expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
