Man killed in KZN crash

Durban - A man died and three were injured in a crash near Pietermaritzburg on the road to Greytown, paramedics said on Monday.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the driver of a bakkie was killed when his vehicle ploughed head on into a lorry.

His passenger was in a critical condition. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.

A third man was critically injured when he drove off the road to avoid crashing into the accident scene.

KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu could not immediately be reached for comment.
