Car ripped apart; CT man dead

Cape Town - One person was killed when a car crashed into a tree near Plattekloof in Cape Town on Friday, paramedics said.

"An early morning crash on the N1, near Plattekloof, has left at least one person dead," said ER24 spokesperson Tristan Wadeley in a statement.

"When emergency services arrived on the scene they found the front end of the car still up against the tree and the back end of the vehicle approximately a hundred metres further away from the front."

A man had been flung out of the car and died on the scene.

Nobody else was injured.
