Polokwane - A 24-year-old Limpopo woman was in a critical condition in hospital after being shot by her boyfriend who killed their son before committing suicide, police said on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Patty Khumalo said Kgomoyakata Mphahlele, 30, was having an argument with his girlfriend on Saturday when the shooting took place at Dithabaneng village in Lebowakgomo.
"The couple had been having an argument a little after midnight when the man shot his girlfriend and then their seven-year-old son, Thato.
"He then killed himself. Both the father and the son died at the scene," said Khumalo.
She said the woman was taken to the Lebowakgomo hospital.
