Port Elizabeth - A man was killed when he lost control of his vehicle while taking the John Tallant off-ramp from the N2 in Port Elizabeth, police said on Saturday.

"He lost control as he took the off-ramp and he hit the road barrier restraints. The car landed on the grass and due to the impact it rolled a few times," said Captain Stanley Jarvis.

The man, 55, was pronounced dead on the scene.

He was the only person in the car and no other vehicle was involved in the accident.

John Tallant Off Ramp is so big...how the hell do you go off there, just a straight run off the freeway and on a weekend, it's quiet there is nothing to hit...?...

Probably realized last second he wanted to go off there, panicked, swung the steering wheel and........................gone!
