Durban - A man who argued with his mother-in-law and his sister-in-law shot them both before turning the gun on himself in Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Monday.
Captain Charmain Venter said 38-year-old Vusi Magwaza arrived at the house of his in-laws on Friday looking for his wife when an argument broke out.
Magwaza then took out a gun and shot his mother-in-law Roda Sithole, 56, in the back before shooting his sister-in-law Makhosi Masondo five times.
He then shot himself in the head.
Both he and Masondo died, while Sithole was admitted to Vryheid Hospital in a critical condition.
Masondo had been shot three times in the chest, once in the head and once in the mouth.
Magwaza's wife was not at the house at the time of the shooting.
Venter said it was also not clear what the argument was about.
