Man shot, killed during family spat

Johannesburg - A man shot and killed his 34-year-old brother during an argument in Bichane Gardens in Roodepoort, police said on Monday.
Captain Lydia Mtila-Dikolomela said Mubeen Kathrada, 31, shot his brother after he was told to move out of their house on Sunday afternoon.
Their father, who lives next door, heard the fight and shouted at them to stop.
"Suddenly he heard gunshots. When he rushed next door he found his son lying in a pool of blood on the floor."
Mtila-Dikolomela said the father phoned paramedics who declared Muhammad Kathrada dead upon arrival.
The younger brother fled in the family car and was found by police on the N1 north highway near the Rivonia off ramp.
He was arrested and would appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Mtila-Dikolomela said.
