Man struck by train in Johannesburg

2012-07-10 12:30

Johannesburg - A man was struck by a train while running from security guards at the Longdale station in Johannesburg, paramedics said on Tuesday.

The man was hit by the train on Monday night, Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said.

"It is believed the man was fleeing from the security guards as they discovered he did not have a ticket... and in an effort to evade his pursuers, he ran into the path of a coach train."

The force of the impact flung the man into a barbed wire fence at the side of the tracks.

"The man sustained multi-system traumatic injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Helen Joseph State Hospital."

"You can Run but you cannot Hide". It's phuza Friday, give the Security guard a case of Heineken, for an excellent work done.
