Man surrenders after stabbing girlfriend

Johannesburg - A man handed himself to the police in Centane on Thursday after stabbing his 18-year-old girlfriend in Khantolo village in the Eastern Cape.

Police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said the man told police that they had a quarrel on Wednesday before the crime was committed.

His girlfriend was receiving treatment for multiple wounds in the local hospital.

The man will appear in the Centane Magistrate's Court on Friday on a charge of attempted murder.
