Cape Town - The search for a 6-year-old Cape Town girl, who went missing a block away from her Hanover Park home on Sunday, continued on Tuesday.

Shasha Lee November was last seen playing with her friends around the corner from her Groenel Walk home at 16:00 on Sunday afternoon.

She has not been seen since.

Search teams made up of concerned residents, volunteers from missing persons organisation The Pink Ladies, neighbourhood watch members, family and police have been scouring the streets, while distributing hundreds of fliers since she was reported missing on Monday morning.

Police confirmed that all leads and tip-offs were being followed up. A joint operational command centre has also been established at the local police station.

Ricardo Sedres, who along with about 100 other residents has been on patrol since Monday morning, said anxiety was growing as they reached the end of day two of the search.

“She is clearly not just lost as she would have turned up by now,” he insisted.

A door-to-door campaign was launched on Tuesday afternoon as searches through the streets of Hanover Park proved fruitless.

Anyone with information on Shasha’s whereabouts is urged to phone the command centre on 021 690 1500 or investigating officer Keith Wakefield on 083 471 4716.
