Matric pupil killed minutes after exam

Cape Town - A matric pupil at Hoërskool Bellville died in a motorbike accident on Tuesday, minutes after finishing his IT exam.

The accident happened at about 11:00 in front of the Chrismar Villas retirement village.

According to a friend who did not want to be named, the teen had wanted to test his father's brand-new motorbike.

"He drove fast…The helmet was loose and he tried to fasten it when he lost control of the bike. When I looked again, he was just lying there," the badly traumatised pupil told Nuus24.

Bellville police station spokesperson, Captain Fienie Nimb, said the teen lost control of the bike and hit a wall.

"I don't know if he had a licence for the bike or whose motorbike it was. His mother and stepfather are on the scene, but his dad has yet to be informed," Nimb said.
