Mayor investigated for porn

Cape Town - A Western Cape mayor is being investigated by police for allegedly sending pornographic pictures to his deputy, the Sunday Times reported.
The newspaper said Cederberg municipality mayor Jonas White allegedly sent porn pictures to his deputy, including that of his erect penis covered in cream and decorated with a strawberry.
White allegedly offered his deputy Lorna Scheepers a private trip for the two of them to Durban at municipal expense, the newspapers said.
Details of these incidents were contained in an affidavit submitted by Scheepers to the Western Cape executive committee of the ANC.
Songezo Mjongile, secretary of the African National Congress in the province, confirmed to the Sunday Times that the party was investigating the allegations.
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa also confirmed the investigation.
"The matter is being looked into. Once it is finalised, the outcome will be communicated to Ms Scheepers," he told the newspaper.
However, White's spokesperson Anthony Mlata had a different view.
"The mayor does not recall sending inappropriate messages to any of the citizens in the municipal area in his official capacity," Mlata said.
