Mbuli still not happy

Johannesburg - Although the assault charge against him has been dropped, TV presenter Vuyo Mbuli is still not a happy man.

According to Mbuli, presenter of the SABC2 programme Morning Live, he will only be relieved once his family has made it through this difficult time.

He also hopes to be back on TV on Friday morning. Since the news broke, he has preferred not to appear on air.

Pat Legwabe laid an assault charge against Mbuli on Tuesday, after Mbuli allegedly threw a vase at him. This happened after Legwabe allegedly caught Mbuli at the home of his friend, Thabisa Nyamakazi, at about 23:00 on Monday.

Legwabe alleged that she was wearing only her underwear and a nightie, while Mbuli was buttoning up his shirt.

Mbuli, who admits that he was at the woman's house, denies both the fact that he was buttoning up his shirt and also that he threw a vase at Legwabe.

Docket to prosecutor

Police spokesperson Lorraine van Emmerik said Mbuli handed himself over to the police, upon which detectives gathered all the information regarding the incident and sent the docket to a prosecutor.

It was then decided that Mbuli would not be prosecuted.

Legwabe says he was shocked and angry when he heard the charge will not be investigated any further.

"I heard about it on the news and it's very disappointing. I will be meeting with my legal adviser to see what we can do. They didn't even inform me that the case had been dropped. I feel like I'm being pushed around because of his (Mbuli's) status."

Legwabe and Nyamakazi have had no communication since the incident.

According to Legwabe, he won't be watching Morning Live any more.

"I should've just gone home," said Mbuli.

"This is going to be a part of my life for a long time, but if you've done something wrong, you must bear the consequences. My focus is on my family now, because things are not okay at home yet.
