Mdluli serves legal papers

2012-06-01 17:49

Johannesburg - Lawyers for former Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli have served legal papers on the Police Service to fight his suspension.

Police spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said: "Indeed, we have received papers from General Mdluli's lawyers.

"Our legal representatives are studying the lengthy document and will be in court [the Johannesburg Labour Court] probably on Monday."

Mdluli last year faced fraud and corruption charges relating to alleged misuse of a secret crime intelligence fund to buy luxury vehicles and to hiring family members.

He also faced a murder charge for the death of his former lover's husband, Oupa Ramogibe and the charges led to his initial suspension.

All the charges were withdrawn in March and Mdluli was reinstated as head of Crime Intelligence.

The move sparked wide condemnation and Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa moved Mdluli to a different division last month.

Acting national police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi suspended him again on Sunday.

This is the problem with the ANC, they won't go quietly!!! You are shameful Mr Mdluli, take your medicine like a man!!! Don't you know that the accusations against you are really s-e-r-i-a-s, and you as a member of the Police Force and nog-al the head, should know better. All I hope for is that you will be made an example of, enough is enough now, you up there with the top brass all exploiting our judicial system! You're all sick!!!

And the taxpayer will pay for his defence while the ANC continues to pay him on suspension. Even if he is FOUND NOT GUILTY I will not change my piss poor opinion of him (or our President)

This Mdluli bloke is like one of those floaters that just won't go down no matter how many times you flush.

      Brett - 2012-06-01 18:07

Hahaha and not the brightest candle in the ANC settlement either. One thing us South Africans can't say is that we have a boring political life. I doubt any other country is run by more morons as we are. This week watching the Spear march, I made peace with this mess. Seeing Blade and Gwede protest at the Goodman gallery one is starting to see why everything is upside down. Amandla!

Have they decided who is going to pay his legal fees yet? I know his application that the state pay was rejected, and his salary is too high for legal aid. I would not be in the least surprised if we end up footing the bill at the end of all of this.

Mdluli has no pride...why would he want to fight for his post..when he has been told to go? 2 reasons. 1. Because the anc showed weakness by withdrawn charges in March....obviously Mdluli believes he'll get off again. 2. Mdluli will no doubt attempt to milk the government for what he can..MILLIONS...or threaten to spill the beans....Hope they can get rid of this low-life soon.

The charges against Mdluli were dropped and investigations halted.... Wonder why Mr ZooMA??? Bet this court action won't get so easily pushed aside lol... Mdluli is a protected species within the ANC (more so than the people of SA and rhino). Please MR MURRAY give us a satyrical artwork of the GENERAL
