Men found with bloody rhino horn

2012-03-01 13:11
Johannesburg - Four people were arrested in Bedfordview on Thursday when they were found in possession of a rhino horn after a car crash, Gauteng police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said their vehicle car crashed into another car on the N3.

Afterwards, the driver of the other car saw them hiding a cooler bag under a nearby tree.

"Police responded to the scene and during the investigation they discovered the rhino horn in the cooler bag and it was still bleeding.

"Members of the Hawks were called to the scene and arrested the four people," said Ndou.

He said the four, aged between 19 and 33, would appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Monday for illegal possession of a rhino horn.
