Men in court for illegal abortions
Pietermaritzburg - Two Ugandan nationals accused of fraud and of performing illegal abortions appeared in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on Friday.
The matter was postponed to allow negotiations to take place between Jonathan Kinane and his countryman Patrick Kiganyi.
They allegedly swindled a woman out of some R103 000.
Kinane and Kiganyi - both herbalists - also face charges of administering abortion procedures without the required licence.
They were arrested in December last year and are currently out on bail of R2 500 each.
The two allegedly told women that they were doctors with powers to communicate with ancestors.
The case resumes on April 20.
