Men stab lesbian for 'stealing' girlfriends

2011-06-14 08:12

Cape Town - A gay woman was stabbed four times by men who accused her of stealing their girlfriends in Crossroads in the Western Cape, The Times reported on Tuesday.

Noxolo Nkosana, 23, was getting out of a car on Friday night, returning home after work when two men, both Crossroads residents, approached her.

"They called to me but I didn't respond. Then they said: 'Hey you! Fucking tomboy!'," she said.

"I kept quiet. When I looked back, one of them was coming for me. He stabbed me twice in the back and I fell down. While my partner screamed for help, he stabbed me two more times."

Men in Nkosana's neighbourhood told the daily it was wrong for two women to be lovers.

One of her neighbours, Siyabonga Ngxaki, 22, said lesbian couples were setting bad examples for children.

"This community does not accept it and they are not a good example to the kids. They should hide what they are doing because the kids will emulate them. I don't want my baby girl to see them," he said.

  • saabnut - 2011-06-14 08:16

"This community does not accept it and they are not a good example to the kids. They should hide what they are doing because the kids will emulate them. I don't want my baby girl to see them," Who made this clown the spokesperson for the community. Whether we like the sexual preferences or not, we need to respect them. and that is exactly what has disappeared from our social pot- RESPECT.

      OllieMor - 2011-06-14 08:19

Hear hear!! And stabbing someone who is having a CONSENSUAL relationship with another ADULT in a way which is normal to them, is such a wonderful example for your children?! Seriously. People must start minding their own business and respecting others and their opinions.

      kalabafazi - 2011-06-14 08:33

Exactly saabnut. It's not OK to have the kids witnessing a consensual lesbian relationship, but it's good for the kids upbringing to have your Dad running around stabbing people. Fantastic mentality. Bunch of lunatics.

      johncarlos.biza - 2011-06-14 09:24

That's true! The world does not revolve around our individual needs and preferences. When I saw the headline, I immediately knew it was in SA. Our communities are still generations behind most of the world

      Razor - 2011-06-14 09:31

Im not saying what they did was right but. we have become so obsessed with being "free" that we lost all sense of our morals. SA, in fact the world has become too liberal.

      Larro - 2011-06-14 09:36

' they are not a good example to the kids ' (so I stabbed her) GTFO!

      Worldwise - 2011-06-14 10:31

@ Razor, you ever read "Origins of the Species"? It happened over millions of years you twit and can be verified by the fossil record and DNA.

      Kpt_Keyboard - 2011-06-14 10:35

Your comment just proved that he is right again! Trying to challenge scientific facts with your teeny tiny brain!

      Kpt_Keyboard - 2011-06-14 12:30

Some1 obviously found the truth offensive.(reporting it) But we all here know that is true anyways, it was just proven again. Impossible to argue with a dumb fool like razor, cause he will bring u down to his level and beat u with exp.

      Jubby - 2011-06-14 13:19

Repost - @saabnut - One should look at the guidelines of what the bible say is right or wrong, not what Governments or other people say. Both acts are a no-no ... GAY and the stabbing. You can't fight for one wrong and complain about the other wrong, hence the reason RSA and actually the world is in such a mess.

      BrixtonBriefcase - 2011-06-14 13:22

Razor: So instead of the scientifically supported theory of evolution - you'd rather believe that a man lived inside the stomach of a whale, and that pairs of animals were held on a ship advanced enough to occupy them for longer than a month? In people turning into salt pillars and zombies being resurrected from the dead? You've been brainwashed and you're addicted to a lie. Just like a cokehead, or a heroin junkie, you need rehabilitation to slowly ween you off of something destructive that's been controlling your existence. Good luck!

      BrixtonBriefcase - 2011-06-14 13:43

@Razor: "anyway i've had this argument too any times even self proclaimed scientist from universities failed to answer my questions." Maybe it's because you want answers to questions that can only be answered by using "pretend hocus pocus" superstition? I can't see any scientist wasting their time trying to take you on.

      George - 2011-06-14 15:20

since when is everyone oblivious of crimes of passion. Are you all aware that 61% of murders in SA are committed by relatives over love affairs? What makes you think that lesbians will be exempt from such practices. Lesbians are also normal human beings with feelings. They also cheat like most people and any person who proposes someone's girlfriend or boyfriend knowingly is scorned by society. Lets not try and give lesbians some special treatment when straight people also get assaulted and killed over affairs. The fact is that crimes of passion are real and people do get killed over such issues whether straight or gay. What is so special about gays that they should be exempted from crimes of passion.

      USSA - 2011-06-14 16:16

And stabbing is a good example for kids? WTF?

      Cacophony82 - 2011-06-15 13:56

@Jubby - Last time I checked there was such a thing as freedom of religion, which includes freedom from it. Just because you believe it does not make it so or gives you the right to force it down my throat. The Bible also says, live and let live and people in glass houses should not throw stones....

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 16:49

@razor: there's no such thing as 'too liberal'. "If it harm none, do what you will" is pretty absolute...

  • theprodigy - 2011-06-14 08:23

oh my god, what losers, they cant even compete with women, then they resort to murder, losers & intollerant thugs...they are neanderthals.

      Fanie - 2011-06-15 07:43

Oi! Dont insult Neaderthals - they CREATED...something this lot still has to learn

      Mandla - 2011-06-15 09:17

      You right,..Neanderthals

  • daaivark - 2011-06-14 08:26

SO going arouns stabbing people is the right model you want to present to your children? F**king reactionary brute.

  • Wotzizname - 2011-06-14 08:31

    Barbaric neanderthals!

  • Serias - 2011-06-14 08:32

Four opinions........(1) Must not be very good "men" if their girlfriends are leaving them for other women....(2) Can understand that women don't want to be involved with disrespecting abusive neanderthal pigs...(3)You choose your own lifestyle and sexual orientation......(4) Still doesn't make same sex relationships acceptable......MY OPINION.

      Beannie - 2011-06-14 09:05

I agree that same sex relationships are not normal. But...everyone has a right to live the way they want to as long as no one else gets hurt. This stabbing is criminal and I hope the guys pay the price for their deed.

      tailormade - 2011-06-14 09:11

Don't you think that you are contradicting yourself with numbers 3 & 4?

      Pulverturm - 2011-06-14 09:49

Choice? No you uneducated halfwit, there is no "choice" in your sexual orientation. Do you think people would choose to be treated like this? Your opinion is your opinion, but it's a very uninformed one!

EmptyCan - 2011-06-14 10:03 what qualifies you to think you can decide on other people's opinions? You sound like a politician. I actually think its nicely said, other than the other gay-bashers that swear and spread hate. Is each person not entitled to his/her own opinion? According to you not. I choose who I want to sleep with, so yes, it is actually a choice you imbasil. If I want to sleep with a woman, I choose to do so. If I want to sleep with a man, I choose to do so. Can you see what word pops up frequently? CHOOSE = CHOICE. If you are gay, you can either decide to live a false life because of social animosity towards your sexual orientation, or you can decide to live life as you decide to be. It's all up to you as individual. Again, your CHOICE. Now back to the Grade 2 classroom with you.

      Jackool - 2011-06-14 10:52

@serias, what you mean to say is "I personally believe it's not right FOR ME". It may be perfectly right for somebody else though.

      OllieMor - 2011-06-14 12:56

If that's true, DJ, then I've been going through a "confused" gay phase for the past 33 years...

      Larro - 2011-06-14 13:25

@Seriarse - sexual orientation is not a lifestyle choice it is a genetic or hormonal disposition. Gays cannot choose to be straight, in the same way that you or I could not countenance the thought of bumming another guy - we are just not made that way!

      DJI - 2011-06-14 14:20

      Olliemor:snap out of it.

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 14:56

@DJl snap out of. hahaha, too you think if it was a choice people would want to live in a way that they can be potentially stabbed because of their sexual orientation?

      Leon Att - 2011-06-14 15:10

Serias Did you choose your sexual orientation? If so, tell us about it. Did you way up the options, the pro's and con's and then made your choice? I did not - and I have never met anyone who did that. Where do get this notion that people choose their sexual orientation? It seems the thinking is that if a guy likes girls it is 'natural', it happened without a choice - but the gay and lesbian communitym, they made a choice. It is an argument without merit. You say people are free to live their lives as they deem fit, but you contradict yourself by adding that same sex relationships are not acceptable. If I like country music and you do not, would you then also say you find my music taste unacceptable? Hopefully not. You are not as neutral and objective about this matter as you make out to be. Regards Leon

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 14:33

So when did you "choose" to be heterosexual? Was it a tough decision?

      Serias - 2011-06-22 07:18

@alyn adams.........easiest choice ever. Nature created a man and a woman for each other.

  • ndumiso.mncwango - 2011-06-14 08:33

apparently, stabbing someone is a good example for their kids

      Martin du Plessis - 2011-06-14 16:36

  • fantasticjac - 2011-06-14 08:35

Okay, so the two women are setting a bad example for the children by being in a lesbian relationship, but it's alright to stab the person to prove a point? Faulty logic, and sadly primitive.

  • TrailerTrash - 2011-06-14 08:36

The community must see them, the children musnt see them but the children are allowed to see a man stoned to death for their nationality.

  • OllieMor - 2011-06-14 08:40

I do not even know where to begin. Firstly, if the "girlfriends" are with this woman, guess what, mate? They were not exactly straight to begin with! Secondly, do they think that stabbing an innocent woman is going to bring the 'girlfriends' flocking to them, or make them men? I can not get over how idiotic the African stone-age, barbaric way of thinking really is! I am NOT a racist, but ffs!! Do they think that because their skin is dark, there are going to be no homosexuals amongst them? Get out of the friggin dark ages, people! Oh, you know what... screw this. It is really no use trying to educate some people...

      kalabafazi - 2011-06-14 09:10

@OllieMor - Well said. Their sense of logic is incomprehensible.

      johncarlos.biza - 2011-06-14 09:38

Yay back to racial labels. You conveniently ignored the comment above you where one white guy shared the "stone age" sentiment and got over 20 thumbs ups from (presumably) white users. Seems like we see what we want to see

      crazycindy - 2011-06-14 10:06

      f@ckin barbaric idiots!!

jowza - 2011-06-14 10:19 can you call lesbians barbarians

      sardonicus - 2011-06-14 11:26

And now girls walking around in pairs will have to watch their backs because some neighbourhood bullies want to exact some sort of unjust retribution for being gay? Even if they're not? I presume you are gay Ollie, I'm straight, so what? If you like being with guys, good for you. I may not like to be with guys that way, but that is my preference. I do not want you to change on my account, and most certainly you don't want to change me. You are entitled to being treated like a human being, not like some kind of cancer. When will these attacks stop? While women's rights organisations have raise this issue, nothing seems to stop the wave of such attacks on South Africa's gay community.

      OllieMor - 2011-06-14 12:28

johncarlos, when is the last time you heard about a white community stabbing a lesbian, or, for that matter, a boertjie that "correctively" rapes a lesbian coz he thinks that THAT is gonna make her want d*ck?

      johncarlos.biza - 2011-06-14 17:34

I don't understand. Did you label "Africans" as barbaric for being exclusively homophobic, exclusively violent or being violent due to homophobia? Your initial post suggested it was the 1st option, then your reply shifted towards the 3rd option after I questioned you. In other words, 4 violent people(they didn't buy their weapons just to stab the lesbian I'm sure) define a certain culture. If you deny this, then you do not really understand what you wrote.

      wmutahi - 2011-06-15 07:52

@OllieMor - There is nothing racial about this attack. There is nothing African about this attack. This crap happens all over the world and it's terrible. So please don't make this an African or racial issue. There are gay people everywhere and they suffer humiliation and physical attacks everywhere not just in Africa or as you say, amongst "dark skinned people".

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 16:57

Olliemor - as someone who has been assaulted for my sexuality, I can tell you your argument is invalid. As an educated person, I can tell you that it's racist, too.

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 16:58

Assaulted by white homophobes,, in case that wasn't clear...

  • Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 08:40

      Victor - 2011-06-14 10:18

An thus can't be stolen. In short. It's the wife choice to get involved with someone else. In this case, another women. It's their right to go to someone else. But their responsibility to break off their current relationship. Only second to this is the other persons responsibility to not be involved with a mirage couple, unless the other knows.

      Slivar83 - 2011-06-14 09:29

i just had to look it up.. and i cant help it but i DONT AGREE...this is what is reads,,, 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

      Jackool - 2011-06-14 09:50

@Larro: This one also cracks me up :#* MARK 10:1-12 Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced." How can you marry someone who is divorced if it is forbidden to get divorced. Somebody should be stoned for not taking their stoning job seriously it seems. What the bible really means about stoning people, or getting stoned, is lighting up a big fat joint, get stoned and contemplate your sinful existence :-) Light it up, light it up.

      OllieMor - 2011-06-14 12:29

Mugabe, people like you disgust me...

      mbossenger - 2011-06-14 10:19

Until you explain why homosexuality is an "unnatural act" you have no actual argument.

      Jackool - 2011-06-14 10:31

@Mugabe. If homosexuality has existed amongst a certain percentage of humans and other species since the beginning of time, how the hell can you claim that it's not natural??? And how about stuff that really is not natural, like computers, watches, cellphones etc...does you logic conclude that all users of such "unnatural" devices should be condemned to hell. My friend...there is no substitute for idiocracy. But hey, none of us are going to demand that you get killed, because idiots have as much right to be on the planet as homosexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals. A last thought. Priests and monks who do not have sex at all, because of their vows, should they also be condemned for being "unnatural". Think brother, think for yourself. It can be hard if you are not used to it, but it really does make things easier in the long run.

      Worldwise - 2011-06-14 10:45

So Mugabe, please tell me whether these are natural acts in your society: Stabbing someone. Masturbation. Theft. Corruption. Murder. Sleeping with someone elses wife. Mutilation for muti purposes. Fear of the Tokoloshe. Paying the father for a wife. Tearing a bull apart to show masculinity. Cutting off your foreskin to show that you're a man. Be careful of what you see as a "natural act". It appears your society is full of "unnatural acts" that you never comment upon.

      Lab-Rat - 2011-06-14 15:53

Well said Jackool. Mugabe, you're an idiot but then I guess everybody knew that already.

  • Queteepie - 2011-06-14 09:30

Oh yes, you can stab someone that is a fine example for the children but you cant be gay?? And another thing if the men cant keep their women where they want them thats there problem.

  • Henry - 2011-06-14 09:33

To my friend Mbossenger standards in society is not dictated by what men says or what researchers says it is dictated by what God says, all these men talk to you on this side of the grave but on the other side it is only GOd, do not be naive about it, do not be ignorant to Gods voice, your parents raised you differently. do not be naive about it God Loves YOU!!!

      mbossenger - 2011-06-14 09:54

Standards dictated by god? Oh dear me? And what do the muslims have to say? Let me guess - your god is the one true god (tm)? And here I was thinking laws dictated our behaviour.

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 14:57

Well, when is "God" going to give us an opinion on this? And I don't mean a 3000-yr-old collection of myths cooked up by superstitious nomadic pastoralists, but an actual, unequivocal sign from "God". If the homeowners association won't let him write on the walls any more, perhaps he could leave us messages in the sunset sky. Sky News - could be a hit! BTW, how do you feel about freedom of religion?

  • Sho Fukamachi - 2011-06-14 09:35

  • Jackool - 2011-06-14 09:38

To Beanie and the other "not-normal" sayers. Just because it's not the way you do things does not mean it's not normal. A certain percentage of men and women have, and always will be, homosexual. So it has been since the dawn of man kind, which, in fact, makes it perfectly normal behavior for humans as a species.

  • GodsServant - 2011-06-14 09:38

It does not matter who says what God created a Women for Men and a Men for Women so it's not acceptable before God to be Homesexual that's why 1 Corinthians 6 vs 9 say "the Homesexual will never inherit the Kingdom of God"

      mbossenger - 2011-06-14 09:57

So explain this to me. God is omniscient, right? So he knew people would "go gay", and then he still punishes them for it, despite the fact that the outcome was predetermined. Please explain how this is fair?

      Larro - 2011-06-14 10:05

God is perfect, and she created man in her own image, so if man is gay then so is god surely? The bible also says 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you', so if you are OK with discrimination in this respect, I guess we all have the right to discriminate against you if we dislike YOUR actions..

      Mannie777 - 2011-06-14 10:19

1 Corinthians 6 vs 9 "arsenokoitai" in Greek. The exact meaning of this word is lost. It seems to have been a term created by Paul for this verse. "Arsen" means "man" in Greek. So there is no way that "arsenokoitai" could refer to both male and female homosexuals. It seems that the English translators gave in to the temptation to widen Paul's condemnation to include lesbians as well as gay males. @GodsServant: So which of the 25 bible translations do YOU beleive in?

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 15:00

We weren't created, we evolved. And it doesn't matter what you or anyone else says, you can't change that truth. There - now we have two bald statements of "fact". Except mine's supported by evidence...

  • Henry - 2011-06-14 09:39

I firmly believe that stabbing a woman or any one for that matter is wrong, I am saying to be a gay according to GOds word is WRONG and this is because someone asked who says it is wrong!! Sin is Sin and this will keep us out of having the eternal life that God so much wants us to have!!! Repent!!! UNless a man is born again he will never enter into the Kingdom of God, it is not just by merely being a Christian, you must be born again!!

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 09:49

Henry, I am born again, I just dont believe in the same thing you believe. You interpreted the Word in a certain way and I do it in a different way. Thank goodness we are all different, the world would be a boring place if we were all the same dont you think? I understand that what you believe is what you believe, but you also have to "love your enemies" and except others for the things they believe. I have many gay and lesbian friends and family, and I love them all dearly and I dont think that them choosing to love someone of the same gender is a sin. You do though and that is fine, but screaming Repent repent!! is not going to make anyone "repent" if that is in fact the desired effect of it, it will just drive people further from what you want them to understand and love. God loves everyone and we must emulate that in our lives even if we disagree with what they stand for.

      Mannie777 - 2011-06-14 10:29

"Men cutting their hair or shaving their beards" SIN is SIN, this is WRONG - God said its WRONG, ne Henry?

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 10:30

Considering how short our lives are compared to the literal eternity that has passed since the dawn of time before we were born, and the eternity that will pass after we die, do you not think it a little harsh for god to eternally banish people from his kingdom, possibly to a lake of fire, for a simple lifestyle choice they make during this relative blink of an eye we call life. We have to ask ourselves why the fact that these women are practicing lesbians is of more concern to society in general than the fact that somebody sees fit to run up and stab these people in the street. We have gone wrong somewhere, and religion is not helping the situation.

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 10:49

Your choice of which word to emphasize in caps is interesting and also revealing. Stabbing someone in the street is merely wrong, whereas being gay is WRONG. The trouble with the fundamentally religious is that they are incapable of thinking reasonably and independantly, and they simply defer, unquestioningly, to their religious texts as their moral compass. This allows them, or at least leads them to believe it entitles them, to cast sweeping moral judgements with such a straight face. Then they get to conveniently blame the book ie 'Hey, it's not me, it's god's word that says it, don't shoot the messenger, I didn't write it, it says it's wrong in the bible, so that's what we should believe, OK'. Henry, here's a quick thought experiment for you. Fr the rest of the day, do me a favour, I want you to NOT have frequent, impure thoughts about you and another man....getting it on, getting nasty........ Whatever you do, DON'T think those thoughts, OK! STOP it Henry, those thoughts are sinful, Henry! Repent, Henry!!!!

      OllieMor - 2011-06-14 12:34

      Blah-dy fooking blah

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 14:26

Henry...I told you NOT to have those thoughts didn't I? Stop It. Repent immediately, Henry!!!

      Lanfear - 2011-06-14 14:26

In the wise words of Leonard Cohen "...when they said repent, I wonder what they meant!"

hehehe, you're actually quite a funny one, but seriously go troll for attention somewhere else. this is a serious news site and not a place to create memes. These issues affects peoples lives.

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 10:16

On your question to what religion support people of the same gender to have sex? Mine. born again christian believing in God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Following the teachings of God. Just because I interpret something a certain way and you in a different way doesn't mean that one is wrong and one right. And by the way, Muslim people will not kill people for being gay. That would be against the peace loving ways of Islam. Here again there are different interpretations of Islam, therefore you get fundamentalists who believe it is right to blow yourself up in a car killing hundreds and those that believe that is is completely idiotic and wrong. Just as it is in judaism there are some of my Jewish friends who eat bacon and pork chops and they love it. Where as some of them would not even touch pork meat. (there are even some of my Jewish friends who believe that the problems in Palestine are the Israeli's fault...imagine the shame). You see we live in a very diverse society where we are all entitled to our opinions as long as it doesn't harm others like in this case where people stabbed others for being different. Also on your comment that we live in a country where the main religion is friend I am afraid you live in a dream world if you think that this is the case.

      Enigma - 2011-06-14 10:51

Yes, and you happen to be african, right?

      African'shtr - 2011-06-14 14:37

how do you like it when a man wants another man, because these gays and lesbians don't like people like them they always go for straight people who end up on this thing, thus why I call it a Satanic behaver, I was once approached by a gay and we made it sure that he screams like a true man, its even worse when its a Xhosa man who turns him self to this satanic thing

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 14:52

your last comment makes no sense... I think what you are trying to say is that you were approached by a Homosexual man that flirted with you and you "made sure he screams like a real man" . If this is the case...what did you do to make him scream? fornication? hehehe, sorry, cant take you to're thoughts are a bit... lets just say old school...

  • ColinG - 2011-06-14 09:41

How does one know if they are lesbian/gay or not? Is it possible for one to just decide they want to be lesbian/gay? I ask, please don't shoot me.

      Larro - 2011-06-14 09:52

ColinG - I am straight, but have read about this. Science seems to indicate that sexuality is decided in the womb, and is influenced by certain hormones present during gestation. So, gay people don't have a choice - they are as much attracted to having sex with the same gender as straights are repulsed by the thought.

      ColinG - 2011-06-14 10:08

I hear you. One of the reasons I ask is because I have a recently divorced friend who declared that he is gay. My confusion is that he was married to a woman for 9 years and they had 2 children. He divorced his wife because he developed attraction to other men. I don't know...

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 10:45

Hey ColinG You seem like a level headed person truly interested in understanding what happened to your friend. You know the thing is that he probably lived with this feeling for a long time but suppressed it because of his fear of what might happen. I think the best way to understand what happened is to remain his friend in the same way you have always been, with love and understanding. This will probably give you more insight and understanding on the matter. I dont think any of us really understand the complexities of our feelings towards others or situations but striving to find the truth and doing it out of love is a noble pursuit.

  • v3 - 2011-06-14 09:50

So stabbing people is a good example for the kids? Why are some people so obsessed with others' sexuality? It reminds me of the apartheid days when "Immorality Act" cops were feeling bedsheets to see if they were still warm.

  • crazycindy - 2011-06-14 10:04

I don't makes it alright for them to murder someone...but its not alright to be gay? messed up & cruel world we live in!

  • carladasilva92 - 2011-06-14 10:07

Who gives a crap what other people think? I wouldnt live my life as to how OTHER people prefer it to be. Gays and straights all over the world should live as THEY want to and RESPECT for the people who are openly gay! You would find that a gay couple has more love for one another than any other straight couple. Screw the controversial way of living!

      jowza - 2011-06-14 10:17

who gives a crap of what you think

      Enigma - 2011-06-14 10:49

@jowza- A lot of us do. If you have any kids you wouldn't be so damn narrow minded coz you don't know what they might turn to be one day(gay, straight or even criminals). So if you have nothing better to say shut your trap!

  • LadyL4169 - 2011-06-14 10:47

@Larro - all those things that you mentioned from the Bible is from the Old Testament. we do not live in the old times any more. The new testament was revealed for us. @Serias - no one chooses his/her Sexuality, the majority of guys and Lesbians were that way from being a child. only difference is some decide to fight against it and live a lie while others come out of the closet. at that vark that stabbed the woman- you talk about example but yet you fail to set one yourself. if these lesbians were f.... on the street it would have been different case but they dont. why dont you rather go stab all these rapists who is realy causing harm to our children. If you have no Sin, then through the 1st stone!!!!!

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 10:56

      well said.

      Larro - 2011-06-14 13:17

I see, so the old testament should be compeletely ignored then? God got it wrong somehow? Or perhaps it had an expiry date? If so, is it stamped on the back like a packet of flour? What about the Koran and the Torah? All a load of bollocks to keep the ignorant and violent in their place - but does not work in SA apparently.

      LadyL4169 - 2011-06-14 14:25

No Larro just that the new testament was written for us so that all the old ways& things be changed. no on said God had it wrong. if you are still living according to the Old Testament then 1. men are not allowed to trim their beards 2. you are not allowed to eat pork, etc. we must just accept people as they are.

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 11:13

  • Lesoga - 2011-06-14 11:09

Do you want your children to see you stabing another human being with a knife?

  • adln - 2011-06-14 11:33

Assault is a crime against humanity,I agree with that. But, we don't have to encourage immoral behaviour just to please are fellow brothers and sisters.Saying that we behave like ancient nation when we choose not to tolerate same sex relatioships is wrong.whether we like it or not, that kind of behaviour is simply wrong and God forbids us from engaging in it,just as He forbids us from commiting murder, udultrey etc...Ancient as it may be,His word will remain a command and no man can change that.

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 12:59

The attempt to rationalize the dispicable act of stabbing somebody purely because of their sexual orientation is almost as sick as the act itself. This typical fundaMENTAList comment of 'assault is bad, but gayness is MUCH WORSE' is what is weighing our society down. This archaic, medieval attitude has to be openly discussed in order for those that choose to adopt it have an opportunity to explain to us, and more importantly to themselves, why they still hold on to such hateful thoughts.

      Larro - 2011-06-14 13:19

@adln, science seems to indicate that gay people are born that way - they do not have a choice, so god therefore designed them to be gay.

      BigDaddyZA - 2011-06-14 14:16

THOU SHALT NOT KILL - Ring a bell, anyone? Nor should anyone with half a brain CAST THE FIRST STONE, lest they discover the BEAM IN THEIR OWN EYE. Stupid, half-witted (almost) human beings belonging in medieval times attempting to continue living like that in modern times. On a biblical note, Jesus himself said that there are only two laws - to love thy God with mind, body and soul; and to LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR as thyself. From these two stem all the laws ... so what the hell are we still doing in Leviticus? Live and let live, I say. If you don't agree, stay away and don't mix/interact. We will do the same. Just my 2 cents.

      Niel Meiring - 2011-06-14 14:47

you said it big daddy ZA

      alyn.adams - 2011-06-15 15:57

Adln, you obviously don't understand the concept of freedom of religion, so I won't bother going into it again. Let's, for the sake of argument, assume that your interpretation of your religion is 'the truth' (it isn't, but I'm happy to play devil's advocate). The punishment decreed by your faith for homosexuality is death. Not disapproval, not constantly trying to guilt-trip people, not even discriminatory laws that deny gay people the same rights as straight people - death. At least the stabbing and stoning brigade, repugnant fascists though they are, are honest. You, on the other hand, want the Pilate option. You're prepared to give moral support, despite your careful disclaimers, to people whose 'offended righteousness' leads them to commit acts of murder and assault, as long as you don't get your own hands dirty. Moral cowardice. Frankly, I prefer the honest murderers; at least they take direct responsibility for the pain they cause. You do it by proxy. But again, this is a freedom of religion issue. Since you don't believe we should have that freedom, you'll never accept that.

  • LadyJJ - 2011-06-14 11:34

It is here and people should eccept, i don't know why people go on as if this is a new thing just think if it was your child ....the same people that feel this is wrong will they chase their kids away because they are gay....come on people this is nothing new and it is here to stay

Sodom is the other name for this place.

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 13:07

Yes, Sodom, the place where good old Lot was quite prepared to hand his virgin daughters over to be raped by the mob in order to prevent them raping men. Such an upstanding, moral man. Doing his bit to prevent any of that gay shenanegans happening. Oh yes, later on, Lot also committed incest with his daughters, to help them get pregnant of course.

      mbossenger - 2011-06-14 14:30

      @mbossenger haha.

      Epicurius - 2011-06-14 14:50

      mbossenger - 2011-06-14 15:23

In my opinion Lot gets a er.. lot of bad press, just because have wanted to give up his daughters to be raped by the mob to spare the angels... And apprently this was the only family from the city worth saving...
