2011-08-27 08:44

Johannesburg - A woman was arrested at a house in Midrand where drugs with an estimated street value of R5m were found on Friday, Gauteng police said.

Captain Pinky Tsinyane said police acted on a tip-off and raided a townhouse in the Savannah Hills complex around 17:00.

They found drugs including tik, and chemicals and equipment used to manufacture drugs.

The 36-year-old woman's husband was not at home at the time.

She was expected to face a charge of manufacturing drugs in the Midrand Magistrate's Court on Monday.

It doesn’t matter how many people they bust, there will always be someone to replace them. It is a losing battle and they know it. Just legalize the stuff, the weaker minded people of society will secome to the narcotics and pass on, thus creating job opportunities for others. Cops can then also focus on other crimes. It’s a win-win situation.

"She was expected to face a charge of manufacturing drugs in the Midrand Magistrate's Court on Monday" Why did they let her into the court with all her drug making equipment? Judge must be in on it!

Is it not high time that we follow the likes of Singapore Malaysia and Indonesia with the drug lords-? While we do not have the death sentence which is AUTOMATIC IN THESE cOUNTRIES AND MANY OTHERS- NOT EVEN WORTH GETTING A LAWYER ETC. nO matter who you are or from which country.- DO drugs there in any way - and that is it!!- sentences should be life- like in Thailand! or even there depending on amounts involved etcc- it could be death! The drug problem in South Africa will stop! if the sentences are MINIMUM.. LIFE!! Oh by the way, jail in Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam and many others, is not like JAIL here- there you know you are in JAIL! This Government and the Judiciary should go and read the books about jail conditions and sentences for DRUGS! They could solve our drug problems within a year and at the same time, those involved who are not YET caught will move very fast and then we are rid of them as well!
