Mokopane - Three men accused of ferrying 33 suspected stolen goats in a minibus that was stripped of its back seats were not asked to plead to stock theft on Thursday.
They appeared in Mokopane magistrate's court and were remanded pending their next appearance on Wednesday.
Captain Malesela Ledwaba of Waterberg police said: "We expect to press additional charges because it appears the minibus was stolen and unroadworthy."
The additional charges would be possession of a suspected stolen vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle and possibly even more charges relating to the illegal transportation of livestock.
The three men were arrested on Tuesday when police on patrol heard the animals bleating in the minibus, which was parked in central Mokopane.
The goats were allegedly destined for KwaZulu-Natal where they would be sold for meat during the festive season.
