Bloemfontein - Four minor children and two older boys appeared in the Bethulie Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of an elderly couple in the town.
Free State police spokesperson Constable Maselela Langa said the case against the six, aged between 15 and 18, was postponed to 11 March for formal bail applications.
The two older boys, Tshepo Ramatlama and Sphiwe Sakman, both 18, would remain in police custody.
Gordon and Launa Adams, both in their 70s, were found dead in their house in Bethulie on 9 February.
They had been stabbed. Two firearms were stolen from their safe.
The attackers fled the scene in the couple's Toyota bakkie.
Langa said the six boys, all from Bethulie, had been charged with murder, house-breaking and the theft of a motor vehicle.
