Cape Town - A young boy, who went missing while his mother slept on a pavement in Athlone, has been found in a home for abandoned children in Table View, Cape Town, police said on Sunday.
"Employees at Nazareth house recognised Albert (Smith), two, from a photograph published in the newspapers," said Inspector Bernadine Steyn.
"He was found on Sunday morning, after Nazareth house employees contacted the police," she said.
Steyn said police were keen to interview a Deon Oktober after they arrested a Grassy Park woman, 21, on Friday and charged her with abduction.
"It is alleged that the suspect gave Albert to a male known as Deon Oktober, about 40, on Tuesday.
"He is 1.74m tall, has a brown complexion and is known to frequently visit Main Road in Sea Point."
Steyn said the child was taken from his homeless mother while she slept on a pavement outside a pharmacy in Athlone last Sunday.
