Johannesburg - Two police dogs who went missing after an accident were found unharmed on Sunday, Richard's Bay police said.
Jim and Choccy had been missing since Friday night, when their police van overturned, said Captain Debbie Ferreira.
The dogs ran in different directions after the accident, said police reservist Colonel Dave Whittaker.
Choccy, a black cross retriever and labrador trained to work with explosives, was found on Sunday morning, behind a hardware store in the central business district.
Patrol dog Jim, a brindle Belgian malino, was found hiding in a construction site half a kilometre from the accident scene at around 15:30.
"He was a bit stressed, but he appears to be in sound condition," Whittaker said.
