Port Elizabeth - The police have found the badly decomposed body of a missing Polish tourist in a densely bushed plot in Heugh Road, Walmer.
Stanislaw Pluskota, 24, whose corpse was discovered on Wednesday, had been missing for nine days after he and four friends were involved in a car crash.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Johann van Greunen said the Nissan vehicle that Pluskota and his friends were driving crashed into a wall at the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) offices.
The police could not find Pluskota after the accident, and he was reported missing.
Van Greunen said the police finally traced his body after residents in the area reported a bad smell.
It appeared that he had been flung out of the car at the point of impact, and landed in the bushes.
His friends all survived the accident. Two are being treated at Greenacres hospital for serious injuries, and two have already left South Africa.
The police were still investigating the circumstances of his death.
