Cape Town - Two men were found dead, their bodies burnt, in a
suspected case of mob justice in Gugulethu, Cape Town, on Tuesday, Western Cape police said.
They were killed in the Kosovo and Kanana informal settlements, Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana said.
"We believe the murders were related because the same modus operandi (necklacing) was used to burn the men."
Witnesses told police that a group of men had accused
the two of being involved in a spate of crimes in the area.
Kinana said
there had been an increase in house-breakings and robberies of women in
the area. He could not confirm if the killings were related to these
crimes.
No arrests have been made.
Two cases of murder are being investigated.
