Mohlala case 'top priority'
Johannesburg - The case of slain ANC councillor Jimmy Mohlala will receive the attention it deserves, Mpumalanga safety and security MEC Siphosezwe Masango said on Wednesday.
Masango commended the police for assigning the case to the organised crime unit.
"This shows that the case will receive the necessary attention it deserves and that possibilities of solving the matter are high," he said in a statement.
Mohlala, the speaker of the Mbombela municipality, was gunned down at his house in KaNyamazane near Nelspruit on Sunday. His son was shot and wounded during the attack.
"We are appealing to community members who may have information regarding the shooting to immediately contact the police so that perpetrators can be prosecuted," he said.
