Mokaba region wants Motlanthe - report

2012-05-28 12:21

Johannesburg - The ANC'S Peter Mokaba region in Limpopo has pronounced its support for Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe, according to a report on Monday.

According to The Citizen newspaper, Limpopo joined Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal in defying a ruling party order not to enter the succession debate ahead of the ANC's elective conference in December.

The Capricorn district municipality's executive mayor, Lawrence Mapoulo, told the newspaper: "We'll support a leadership that will give the thumbs up to economic freedom in our lifetime... and redistribution of land without compensation.

"By the looks of things, Kgalema is the only ANC bigwig who understands that concept. It is only Motlanthe who can take us to the promised land of Mangaung and beyond."

He was speaking after the Peter Mokaba region's elective conference held in Polokwane at the weekend.

Mapoulo is an ally of Limpopo Premier Cassel Mathale, The Citizen reported.

Who cares!!! we don't want a president who will be controlled by Zimpopo mafias (including the fallen easter bunny Malema)--they must forget that he will be a president, i'd rather vote for the Madam instead.

for sure, think i will vote for her anyway

I hope for Monthlantle's sake that Limpopo isn't his Grand Plan...because on the political map...Limpopo is nothing compared to the Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal. He has lost the race before the start.

Here we go, populist issues and not common sense are going to dominate the debate over who our next president is going to be. Isn't it amazing that the only thing you need to do to gain the support of the "masses" in this country is mimic the failed policies of Zimbabwe and other failed states.I say again and again, are there no leaders of integrity and moral fortitude willing to stand up for the good of South Africa and not for the pockets of themselves and their cronies. We are truly on the road to nowhere.

Peter, Tokyo may bring Malema along.

  • Peter - 2012-05-28 12:52

What a lonely voice. We cannot pronounce on a leader that is not decisive about his future. We need people like to Tokyo to take on the Zulu brigade.

      Oom - 2012-05-28 15:07

Tokyo may not be the angel you think he is.....

The masses wants another president, GREAT IDEA btw. BUT South Africa changes leaders like we change Bafana coaches.. Oh and dont forget ,, Bafana is pretty useless regardless of whichever coach they've had. SPOT the mistake .. The mentality of the masses needs to change and stop blaming pre 94 for everything that's wrong and vote with their heads, not spears,, heads.

The government is so corrupt we dont even know who could be better than the other since ANC is giving us "A BITTER LIFE FOR ALL".

  • Jacqui - 2012-05-28 14:25

They'll first have to get him off the fence he is for ever sitting on. Going from fool to daft is just too much.

I like Mr Motlanthe, at least he thinks before he talks, and he has that statesman way about him. He seems to take his position very seriously, not like the rest of the zoo. Best thing he can do is to join the DA, that’s where all the real people’s people hang out..

Mokaba region. is a branch in Lipompo, and in our camp, we already have KZN which account for the 50% of the voting candidate in Mangaung, Mpumalanga, Majority of Eastern Cape, Women's league, SACP and during the weekend we won the vote of NUM, who form the biggest part of COSATU's voting candidates who are also the biggest affiliate and contribute about 70% of COSATU's revenue and who have on record said they support JZ 100% and will push their agenda to COSATU and of course the president of COSATU, Sdumo have endorsed the president, and it clear to me that we are on the right track and it will be wise for evryone else to join our course of dealing with the desruptive nature of people such as Montlathe who are driven by the drunkard called Malema into turning ANC into a circus, and we as ANC must show him and his croonies that animals are kept at ZOO.
