Nelspruit - A woman who admitted she stole groceries for when her daughter is at college will be sentenced on Friday.
The State has asked for her criminal records so that the magistrate can determine a suitable sentence.
The 44-year-old woman, who initially used a false name in court, appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
She is being kept in custody because her bail of R300 was forfeited when she was caught lying about her name.
She was also convicted for a separate theft case on Wednesday, for which she will also be sentenced on Friday.
She has confessed to stealing groceries worth R139 89 from Shoprite-Checkers at the Riverside Mall in Nelspruit on December 31.
She said she stole food for her 19-year-old daughter, who is doing a paramedics course at the Mlumati Further Education and Training (FET) college in Kamhlushwa this year.
